Help with a new UPS

We have 6 Imacs, 4 of them have a secondary monitor, two printers two modems and a server. Recently out UPS went bad and im having a hard time finding a replacement. I need to find a UPS that has atleast 7 battery backup outlets. We were using two but are trying to just find one. Any store online or that I can drive to that you know to buy from? I am trying to avoid buying online as right now our servers are not backing up. Thanks

I'm guessing you'll need to get a server/rackmount sized UPS to cover that many computers. You probably will be better off with one for each computer, or maybe a couple computers. I can't imagine any consumer UPS would power 10 monitors for long enough to shut down.

Connect it to the surge suppressor outlet, not the battery backup.

So what if you lose power to a printer? You won't lose any data (and a running laser printer will suck the juice out of the battery faster than anything).

Generally you want to hook the computer to the battery backup, probably the monitor (so you can do the shutdown yourself if needed), although monitors will suck the juice too, and any external hard drives. Pretty much everything else doesn't need a battery.

In other words, given your equipment, I would hook the 6 imacs and the server to battery backup. I would hook the second monitors and the printers to the surge-only outlets. If you do that, you could get two UPSs, with 4 battery outlets each, and be set. That said, that's a huge amount of juice for just two UPSs--can your outlets handle that? 10 monitors are consuming a ton of power, and I'd be surprised if even a 20A circuit can handle that. If it were me, I'd buy 7 smaller UPSs, one for each computer.

I use 2 less expensive UPS, instead of 1 big UPS. Just put monitor on a different UPS than the computer.

Battery:
- Computer
- Monitor
- External Harddrives
- USB hub (if your keyboard or have harddrives connected to the hub)
- Router
- Ethernet switch

Note you can connect power strips to Battery outlet for low power consuming items, such as ethernet switch, usb hub, etc.

Surge only:
- Printer
- Chargers for laptop
