Hi all,

I have one issue with AirDrop, hoping someone can suggest a solution :)

So I have a MacBook Air, an iPhone Xʀ, and a work iPad.

When I AirDrop from my iPhone, it can "see" the work iPad and the MacBook.
When I AirDrop from my MacBook, it can "see" the work iPad and iPhone.
But when I AirDrop from the work iPad it only sees my iPhone.

Any idea how to get it to see my MacBook too?

I like AirDrop, but find that I've never been able to use it as seamlessly as I should. But,
- are you (can you?) logged in to the same iCloud account on all devices?
- What year/model is the MB?
- There are 2 links at the bottom of the Finder AirDrop window: Discovered by Everyone and Don't see Who You're Looking For. Have you tried both to see if they make a difference?

A couple things come to mind, beyond the above tips:

Check and see what OS the iPad is running. If it is older, an update could resolve the issue.

If the "work" iPad is managed via a MDM system, it is possible that some network protocols have been disbaled to prevent data leakage (security requirement) or other network requiements. This seems less likley, as AirDrop is working to the other iOS device. If this is the case, you would have to request that AirDrop is enabled. IT might say yes, might say no.

You don’t need to be logged into the same iCloud account for Airdrop to work.

I have found it to be quite buggy at times. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t for a while.
Just make sure you are discoverable on all devices and they are not sleeping when you are trying to airdrop.

Nope I never did manage to get this working! It's very frustrating having to send stuff from my iPad to Macbook via my iPhone..!
