HELP with bootcamp and new iMac

Can someone please explain to me why the magic mouse does not scroll, and why the usual mac keyboard controls (I.e. eject, volume) do not work in bootcamp.

I'm using one of the new iMacs. I have installed bootcamp 3.0 drivers that came with the computer.

I went into bootcamp help and it says go into bootcamp control panel, click on 'keyboard'... but there is no keyboard tab!

What is going on?

PLease, PLEASE help me here. This is the third format.
 
I can't help you with an answer, but it would be helpful for those who can to list what system you're running and what operating systems (Apple & otherwise) that you're using.

Hey there,

I am using the higher end C2D iMac 27 inch.

I have installed Windows XP SP3 through bootcamp 3.0. Partition file-type is the one that ISN'T FAT-32 (NTSC or whatever).

Basically the mouse works, the keyboard also works. However, the mouse is not able to vertical scroll, and the keyboard does not recognise the mac-specific commands (volume, brightness, eject disk, etc.).

This is really, really bugging me.

Anybody who has installed the drivers provided within the OSX Install Disk, can you please tell me whether the keyboard and mouse worked straight off (obviously after reboot), or was it necessary to download anything else?

Please, please, please help me.
 
That doesn't work. I've literally got about 10 copies of that download.

I just tried installing it AGAIN on the (now third) new format through parallels. It starts installing, backs up the systems, yada yada, gets about 3/4s of the way threw the installation and then says (pretty much): this isn't meant for this system, check you have the correct program to be updated.

I then booted up in Windows in bootcamp, tried installing it on bootcamp. I click on the .exe file and this time NOTHING HAPPENS. This is what happened last format. I click and click and click and it's like there's no file there.

What the hell is going on? Am I the only person who can't get the mouse and keyboard to work or what?

The funny thing is I had both the mouse and keyboard working on a FAT-32 format. I just had to re-format the drive because Empire: Total War wouldn't work on FAT-32! So I know it CAN work, it just doesn't seem to want to any more!

That download, are you SURE it's meant to update BOOTCAMP 3.0 (i.e. the version that is shipped with the NEW imacs??)
 
Have you tried installing the drivers from your OS disk? Boot into Windows and then insert your OS X Installation DVD, and install the utilities from there.
 
Of course I have tried that. Haven't you read my posts? Sorry to be snappy but come on, as if I wouldn't try that.

That's one of the things I'm trying to ask: with other people, when you installed the drivers from the OS X Install DVD did the mouse and keyboard work correctly straight away, and if not what did you do to get them working?

My apologies, I must have missed that.
 
My wired keyboard worked perfectly after the osx drivers install, but my bluetooth mighty mouse was having problems. I had to go into Win7 drivers and disable the power management for bluetooth devices b/c after several seconds of inactivity they were turned off and couldn't be turned back on.

Symptoms
When using an Apple Magic Mouse with Microsoft Windows XP or Vista, vertical scrolling and two-finger swiping may not work.

Resolution
If you are using Boot Camp in Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard, download and install the Boot Camp 2.2 drivers to enable vertical scrolling with Magic Mouse using Windows.

Additional Information
If you are using Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard, vertical scrolling in Windows using a Magic Mouse is currently supported only on iMac (Late 2009) computers. Swiping is not supported.

I AM USING THE LATE 2009 I MAC AND IT STILL DOESN'T WORK.

When you use an Apple Wireless Keyboard (2009) with Microsoft Windows XP or Vista and Boot Camp 3.0, which ships with Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard, or Boot Camp 2.1, which shipped with Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard, the following keys may not be recognized: brightness controls, volume controls, Eject key, and the Control-Alt-Delete key combination.

Resolution
If you are using Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard, download and install the Boot Camp 2.2 drivers to enable these functions in Windows.

Additional Information
If you are using Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard, these features are currently supported only on iMac (Late 2009) computers.

See, it says 'IF YOU ARE USING OSX v10.5 download boot camp 2.2. update. I've got OSX 10.6! Bootcamp 3.0. New iMac. Where are the updates for bootcamp 3.0?

Fing ridiculous I swear. Any way it looks like there's something fundamentally wrong here so I'll just ring support tomorrow.
 
Are you 100% sure? I know Vista is only up to SP2. I don't see why XP wouldn't support SP3 when it's how many years old now?
 
YES!

OK, all I needed was the bloody Blue Tooth 1.0 update. It works perfectly now, scrolling, keyboard commands the whole fing shizzle baby.

Thanks for the effort guys and gals.
