Hi guys,

I have an iphone 4 on 6.1.2 which was jailbreaked using evasi0n.
I wanted to format it this morning as i'm giving it to gf. So i went into settings and did reset all content and settings. Now it's stuck on the apple screen.

If i connected to my mac, iPhoto opens up and i can still see my photos (so it didn't erase content...) and iTunes detects it but lists all content as "Other".

I click on restore from backup on iTunes and it gives the error "could not restore becuase it is locked with a passcode".

I do not want to restore the iphone completely because i want to keep it on 6.1.2 to be able to keep the jailbreak.

Is there anything i can do?

Thanks!

Google DFU restore, do that and restore. Your only choice now is to restore to 6.1.3, so you will no longer be able to jailbreak. It's the only way to get your phone working again.

Tough luck, and now you know better for next time to never hit Erase All Content and Settings on a jailbroken phone

You can save it. Just run Evasi0n again. That has saved my but many times.

Evasion says that the device has a passcode set and it wont let me clikc the button. it tells me to disable passcode. any way i can do it without access to phone?

Downloaded Semi-Restore and that has done the trick :) i'm still on 6.1.2 and my iphone is now working again... phew...:! :apple:

Still having a problem tho, the iphone is 32gb and is now showing 20gb of space used up as "OTHER"... how can i delete all that other data?

Seems that all my mp3s, images and video were still on the iphone and not accessible. So downloaded iCleaner from cydia added "mp3 png mov" to filetype cleanup, and listo, i have 10gb+ space back, theres still another 5gbs there that i need to recover... trying to figure out the other file extensions i can delete (i assume its emails, apps, favourites and contacts)

Use ifunbox to get to your filestructure from a pc or mac and find the data and delete it, most likely somewhere in the 'user' section as 1 file
