Just bought 21" All-in-one iMac for Xmas and bought new copy of Return to Castle Wolfenstein so we would have something to do Xmas Day. I installed the game to make sure everything was working (yea, even I don't beleive that one) and I get an error message that the game can't find the auto save file. Without being able to find this file the game will not play.

Did I do something wrong? Is there anything I can do to ge this to work?

Any help would be appreciated.

RTCW to my knowledge is only available in Power PC architecture with no binary patches to update it. It is reportedly able to run under Rosetta fairly well so maybe this has to do with your difficulty. I keep my RTCW on an older G4 powerbook just for the same reason.

I checked out my RTCW installation and found an Autosave Folder. It is located at Wolfenstein/Main/save folder and is accompanied by several .svg files. The autosave folder itself contains these files (cutscene1.svg, escape1.svg, escape2.svg, and tram.svg) which represent the mission maps I have played so far. If you wish I can email this folder + files (664KB) to you along with a screen shot of the location for you to try. Email me at dfalstott@mac.com and provide a return email address and I will send them along.
