When I use command tab to switch between applications (chrome and another app), it comes back every time to a different chrome window (I have a few windows open in full mode). Up until a week ago it used to come back to the last active chrome window but not it seems random. How can I solve it? Thanks.

Use Spaces:

Open full screen window in each space ( as many as you need ). Quickly swipe between them all. I use it for coding, everyday.

Which OS are you using?

I am currently using Sierra and command+tab is working as it should.
If I had your problem, I would do a backup and then I would try re-installing the full OS over the current installation.
