Sorry for the newbie question. I just bought a new MAC PRO and LG 4K monitor (computer is still being shipped, I don't have it yet.)

On the back of the LG monitor is one large Displayport and two HDMI ports.

What is the best cable configuration for this computer/display combo?

Should I go Thunderbolt to the Large Displayport? Or should I go straight HDMI to HDMI? Which is better? I have perused the web for an hour and I can't find any info on which is the more preferred connection for 4K.

Thanks.

Use a Minidisplayport to Displayport cable plugged into one of the thunderbolt ports. The HDMI port on the Mac Pro cannot support 4k at 60 Hz.
