Hi all.

I was recently given an early 2008 iMac that has a problem with either the screen or the graphics card, because although the mouse pointer is visible, it is almost imperceptible. I wanted to know if you can think of what it could be. It is obvious that the problem is one of the two.
I am attaching some images so that you can get an idea of the problem.
Thank you very much in advance.

Best regards.

My first thought looking at your pictures here is it could just need reseating the display cable. (Hopefully).

I would try doing a PRAM reset first though as these models can be quite notorious for having display issues fixed by simple PRAM resets.

Hi, thanks for your repply.

I've tried with the reset and no I get a full white screen. 😅😂 Any ideas?.

Best regards.

Just getting a white screen sounds like it may have fixed your issue? Is likely there is no operating system installed, or potentially failing drive trying to boot into an OS and is just stuck on the boot screen now.
