Is there any way to configure e-mail notifications to appear on the lock screen WITHOUT waking up the phone?

When my phone is locked and asleep, I don't want new emails to wake it up, but I do want new emails to appear on the lock screen. Any way to do that?

what if you choose the leftmost 'alert style' ("none")

edit: nah, just tested, still wakes the phone.

why would you want it to not wake the phone? you CAN turn off the preview, though, so it'll only say that you got an email from an adress, but not preview the content

Because I spend most of my day at a desk and don't need my phone to constantly wake up as I get my daily emails. But when I'm not at my desk, I would like to glance at the lock screen to see any emails I've missed.

a #firstworldproblem, for sure.
