Help with Entity Relationship Diagrams in MS Access

I've got a small ERD related database assignment to complete in a few days. I've think I've created the tables correctly, I've followed all the rules right, but the relationships that Access makes for me when I drag the links come out in reverse.

I've attached files below (yes they are zipped and they shouldn't have any viruses in them ). I've included both 2007 and 2003 copies in the zip file.

The other two attachments: the PDF is the ERD we need to follow, and the image is what I've managed to create.

And you can see that it's obviously wrong even without looking at the correct ERD.

Can anyone shed some light on this problem for me?

You need to put the remote key (i.e. the one referencing the primary key) in the "to many" object in Access. This is because each object has a unique primary key, but many remote objects can reference a single primary key.

PS Is that entity-relationship diagram given for the assignment, it looks really poor .

Thanks for replying Eraserhead, but how do I change the 'remote key' to the 'to many' object? I know what you're trying to say but I don't know how to change it in Access.

Totally agree with you about that ERD diagram though. Uni lecturers, lazy as usual.

I can't work out how to get Access to display the Infinities/Ones, but the following is how it should be:



The person can own as many books as they want, but each book can only have one owner.
