Hi guys,
I'd figure I'd ask the Mac consensus if this monitor will work for my Mac.
I have a Macbook pro Retina (MacBookPro10,1) with an NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB GPU, 16 Gigs of ram. Running 10.11.2.
It's never a clear cut answer if my mac has enough graphical horsepower to support these types of new monitors.
I was looking at the:
LG Electronics UM57 25UM57 25-Inch Screen LED-lit Monitor
http://www.amazon.com/LG-Electronics-25UM57-25-Inch-LED-lit/dp/B00V8FAWC2/
Dell SE2716H 27" Curved Screen LED-Lit Monitor
http://www.amazon.com/Dell-SE2716H-Curved-LED-Lit-Monitor/dp/B012AQIQ3Y/
LG 29UM57-P 29IN Ultrawide IPS LED Monitor 2560X1080 Glossy Black
http://www.amazon.com/LG-29UM57-P-Ultrawide-Monitor-2560X1080/dp/B00V8FW14E/
What I need is something that I could use for video editing, at least 60hz, and could work with both my Mac and a PS4 I got for the holidays. I cant afford a really expensive super color accurate monitor. Thankfully I do color calibrate.
I'm not even sure if there is a limit on the HDMI out on macbook pro Hertz wise or resolution. If you have other suggestions, in the 200-300 dollar price range, that offers good color reproduction, decent black levels with no ghosting, it could be even from an off brand like AOC or something, I'm all ears.
