Hello,

I've only just began to work with Fireworks (8) and I am stuck on this one thing I'd like to ask about.

How do I choose a style on the right from my palette and insert it onto my clear .png image I have started?

I'd like to use one of the styles I see over there on the palette.

Hi there,
styles are applied onto vector objects or text - looks like you have the page setup how you want it, now you have to draw a shape on the page and apply the style to that shape. If you want to draw a square the same size as the whole page here's a tip; draw a rectangle (tool is halfway down the toolbox) at any size, select it and then enter the x and y size into the properties box - set origin to x-0, y-0. The box is then the same size as the page. Stick with fireworks it Its the best package for the creation of original art both bitmap and vector! I find that I almost never use illustrator anymore and probly photoshop once every couple of weeks. Hope that helps ya.
