Is there an app that allows to keep your username but will require a password everytime you sign in.

you can set it as your default email in the Mail.app . just select google mail and fill in your information.
If you want Push Email set it up as a Microsoft exchange account. For this you will fill in your email address as your username and email, and it may ask you to add your own server which is m.google.com
