I do not think the 5770 will work with Leopard.

You just need to get the Snow Leopard DVD into the Superdrive so that when you start up the Mac Pro with the new 5770 graphics card, you can boot into the Snow Leopard installer. Hold the Option key to get the Apple boot menu (or hold the 'C' key to boot directly to DVD).
Once you are running the installer, Then install to the hard drive.

Correct, you will need at least Snow Leopard for 5770 support. I would recommend upgrading to Mavericks after that, unless you need support for PowerPC applications.

thx for the answers ! so whit the dvd i can get image and just follow the snow leopard install right ?

I can't promise that it will work, because I don't have a 5770.
I've read that Snow Leopard 10.6.4 is the oldest OS X to support 5770.
I hope that the DVD installer will work alright.

Do you have the 5770 now? If you do, then try to use it.
--Install 5770 card in Mac Pro
--Turn on mac pro and hold down mouse button at chime. This should eject your Superdrive.
--Insert DVD into tray and power off mac pro by holding down the power button.
--Power on Mac Pro (Superdrive tray should now close) and press/hold 'option' key at chime to get boot menu.
--Choose OS X installer DVD from menu. Install Snow Leopard to Hard drive.

Update to 10.6.8.

The retail Snow Leopard disc was never updated past 10.6.3 and you need 10.6.4 to support 5770.

The 8800GT is known for bad solder connections which can be fixed by baking it in the oven (seriously).

im gonna try this before buy the 5770 hope mi dad gonna try too :D . I just need some hours for install snow leopard and maybe lion. Thx for the help guys !

No, a snow leopard install DVD will not work with a 5770.
They released 2 Snow Leopard DVDs: 10.6 and 10.6.3.
Neither of those support the HD5770.

Do you have access to another Mac?

Nop dont have another mac :( the baking option its the best option right now if it works for 24 hours we can install snow leopard + lion the same day and just put the 5770. But if not works dont know what i can do .

What we can do if i find another mac pro ? . Thx for the help guys and zorry for mi crap inglish :D

I'd bake the 8800GT, plenty of instructions and tips to do it on the forum, works I've found most of the time. The GPU chip must face upwards when cooking though unless you want your GPU to fall out :)

I believe Apple are selling a retail 10.6.8 DVD over here in the UK for £19.95 with the app store to upgrade to Mavericks, I'm waiting for confirmation from recent buyers.

Guys thx for the amazin help ! and zorry for the delay was very busy. Well we fix the 8800 whit the baking method !:D.

Now we just are waiting for the new graphic card and we can install snow leopard whitout problems ^^ .

Thx so much for the help ppl !
