I have used Handbrake to rip DVD before but today when I open to rip something, it stays open for about 10 seconds and then closes with the normal message that it closed unexpectedly.

I rebooted, that didn't work, I put the app in the trash downloaded a new one and that didn't work.

Before I get the reply that this is not the right forum, I am posting here in this forum because so many of us use Handbrake to rip DVD's for our iPhones and thought maybe one of you has had this problem and could help me solve it.

Thanks guys........

Yes I did

The first thing I did was to try a DVD that I had already converted, three in fact.

No plist.....

SO far I don't have a clue what it could be..

i was having the same problem a ways back. i found that it only happens in the newest version of handbrake that i had just downloaded. clearly a bug in the newest version. i used the old version i had already installed to no problem.

I'll try that

I did upgrade to Leopard but that has been awhile. I'll try an older version (if I can find one) and see what happens.......

Thanks
