hello
i have just installed my HP OFFICEJET 4680, its a all in one unit, the printer bit works fine but the scanner wont work, i have a imac 21.5 brand new machine.
when i try to scan, the computer says SCANNER IS NOT INSTALLED. any ideas please ?..... ps i have installed the printer using the correct disk for the imac.

I haven't tried the scanner feature on my iMac's attached HP C4480 printer "yet". But.... My 'inner voice' is telling me its scanner feature won't work either. I'll probably need to perfrom a special "fix" to my HP C4xxx printer. For example, re-load the Mac OS drivers from the HP web site.

For more details, surf:

For Mac OS X 10.4 and 10.5 -> http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=3739150&docname=c02002502

For Mac OS 10.6.x -> http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=3739150&docname=c01956417

Perhaps you need to install drivers (updated drivers that include needed scanner code) from HP download site as well???

Good luck....

Same thing happed with my POS AIO HP DJ F380. (Abbrev. much?)

Reinstalling the drivers downloaded direct from HP's support site fixed it. This driver is the one you need if you so choose to reinstall the drivers. :)
