Please help, i bought the im+ but then my ipod messed up with all my apps gone etc.. then it updated to V2.0
if i try and buy again will i get it again for free?

If I'm not mistaken, your purchase history is kept with your iTunes account meaning that it would be saved regardless of what happens to your device.
