Hi all, newbie alert....

I recently inherited a borked iMac (Mid 2011 - I think), E2428.

It had 4GB Ram, i3 and the AMD Radeon HD 6750M card. The latter has died, (banding on the screen, Apple logo, then reboot). So I've looked at what options are available to experiment.

I was a bit cautious about trying any of the NVIDIA Card upgrades (Metal) so I opted to stick to things that would have come with the iMac as configurable options.

I've got:
2.8GHz quad-core Intel Core i7
32Gb Ram (4x8GB)
AMD Radeon HD 6770M
And I poked about for a OWC 1TB kit to swap the original HDD

My question(s) are:
Is there any easy GFX upgrade method other than the option of the better card that was on offer
Is 32GB the max, seems like it is

What is the absolute latest version of OSX I can install (bearing in mind it's a new SSD), and how.

Thanks in advance,

Was that its original specification followed by your upgrades or what?

Apart from this route? Sticking to the GPUs that came with the machine would just result in another potential failure.

Sequoia, using OCLP. But check this.

No the parts above are what I've ordered to take it up from its original i3 spec, 4gb ram.

Based on the gfx thread, and it's endless 800 odd pages, would a WX 4150 work without issue (the HP variant).
