Help With iMessage and Apple accounts.

Hi there.
I currently have one apple account, with all my app, music, and other content purchases. However, as my other family members started to get their idevices, I set them up with the same account so we could share our app purchases; it seemed silly that a family of four should have to repurchase their apps and content on different accounts. However, with the release of ios 5 I have encountered some problems. iMessage, FaceTime, and I believe some other apple services, are tied to that one account. This means that everyone in my family can't iMessage each other, nor receive separate iMessages from others. How do I go about fixing this? If I make us all separate account, its it possible for us to still share itunes purchased cotent?

You can have different Accounts for iTunes/App store and everything else.

Your iCloud account is seperate, so log them in for iTunes/app store with your itunes account, but set up your own individual accounts for iCloud.
Also iMessage uses your phones number and you can add as many email addresses as you wish to your caller id.

To piggy back off of this, I am getting my first IPhone on Thursday. I have no text messaging plan, so if I use iMessage I can text people who also have Ipads or Iphones for free using their phone #'s? As opposed to their Apple ID's, or does it not matter as long as I am sending an iMessage to another Apple device?

You can send iMessages and use only data, regardless of whether you use their phone number or email address. As you said, it only matters that they have an Apple device using the iMessage system.

Thanks a ton, one of the reasons I am switching is the free texting and not having to add a third party SMS. I think texting is the biggest scam wireless companies charge when you already pay for a data plan.
