Hello guys.
I really need help with a fresh install of catalina on My IMac late 2013.

I’ve been struggling for days, trying to do it, searching for answers and nothing…

The steps so far:

I’ve made a bootable pendrive with Catalina using terminal.

Formated the hard drive (Atfs)

Started the Mac pressing alt to start from the usb. But it goes to utilities.

In utilities I click on instal macOS.

After that the computers freezes on the next panel (see pic).

Before all this steps I’ve tried everything possible.

Don’t know what to do.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
Paulo

Can you not click on the "MAC" disk? You have to click on the disk icon sometimes before you can install to it. Alternatively, you can try Internet Recovery (command-option-r at boot) and see if that works. Good luck!

there
make sure your firmware is updated,
this screwed me up several times last decade.
also use internet recovery if catalina is the last allowed upgrade, as tensixturtle advised.
took me several times 2 weeks ago to format a drive in a mac mini, so don't fret too much!

As a matter of fact, proceed with following

1. Change your USB drive. Some cheap drives just don't work as expected as USB installers, don't know why. But just try another brand. Never had problems with Sandisk.

2. Do not use terminal command, but try utilities specialized on making bootable installers. You might be making mistakes when typing terminal commands or something else, anyway, use something like Install Disk Creator to make the USB installer. They will also make USB bootable.

3. Check date and time on Mac. https://www.macworld.com/article/22...tall-os-x-application-cannot-be-verified.html It is known thing, which stalls installs (haha).

4. Finally, your drive might be corrupted or worn out or just broken (and not only drive but mainboard too). Check hardware or replace drive.
