I have an IPad fourth gen. I'm taking a trip in a couple weeks, and the van we're using has an entertainment system in it (an old one), but I will be watching videos, movies, etc. from my iPad. There are 'composite a/v in' ports on the vehicle console, so I can simply buy the proper adapters/converters to adapt to composite a/v and watch videos on the built in system. BUT- that will only work for the kids in the back (where the ceiling monitor is). My wife and I were planning on watching the same video on the iPad screen up front. I've realized that while mirroring, once I play a video it only shows on the tv, not on the iPad anymore. It says something like "playing video on TV" or something. I can't find a way to show the video on both screens at the same time, and Apple certainly couldn't help either. Anyone know of a way to do this? An app? Jailbreak? Anything?
Mostly we will be watching Amazon video, YouTube, things like that. I also have a IPhone 4 which is analog video out. Much simpler and cheaper to adapt to composite cables. I would be fine watching on that small screen if that would work.
Thanks
