iPhone 8/Plus Help with iPhone 8 purchase decision

I'm doing some research to help my friend purchase an iPhone 8 (will be her first iPhone).

I'm not all that savvy with cell phones, so my main questions are:

1 - What are the advantages of having both a Mac computer and an iPhone (as opposed to a Mac computer and an Android phone) ? i.e. what kinds of capabilities will be provided by the compatibility between the iPhone and a Mac computer (my friend bought a new Macbook Air) ?

Will she be able to easily transfer/sync/back up contacts, photos, videos, etc between the iPhone and Macbook ?

Once the iPhone and Macbook are paired, will she be able to type and send text messages from the Macbook ?

What else will be easy to do between the iPhone and Macbook ?

2 - Is it true (I've heard) that most iOS apps on the Apple store cost money while Android generally offers more free apps ? Did you pay for most apps you got from the Apple store or get them for free ? I know that this depends on the individual app, but I'm asking you to generalize.

3 - How easy is it to transfer data between an Android (her old phone) and an iPhone ?

1) yes everything will be synced via icloud - contacts, photos, messages and yes, she will be able to send messages from macbook... and 1 nice advantage, when synced, if macbook is out of wifi, can automatically use iphone as a wifi provider
2)probably (never owned android) - but free aint free i suppose all free android apps do bother u with ads
3)you can expect several years of support, 3-4 years at least

It is in that sweet spot of "not too old, yet not too pricey".

1. Apple ecosystem is unbeatable in the world right now. iOS and Mac OS works really well together.

2. All the most used apps are generally free on both iOS and Android. Some specific apps are paid and well developed for iOS in comparison to their Android counterpart. Generally developers prefer iOS due to users willing to pay for their hard work and also due to the availability and support of good guidelines.

3. Typically Apple is the only company that supports their hardware for around 5 years on average.

We went to the BestBuy store today to look at the 7+ and my friend loved the 8 so much that we've now decided to get the 8 instead !
