Help with Mac Mail Rules

I am having a issue setting Rules with my mac mail. for some reason I set up the rule

Crate New Mailbox> Preferences> Rules> Add New Rule> Set the first condition to from and add email that i want sent to the new mailbox on the action box and add Marked as Read> Hit ok> Hit ok agin> mail does not go were I want it to and i still see it in the inbox

Main objective is to sort my mail in to mailboxes and keep them away from my inbox and mark them as read

I am Currently running Yosemite 10.10.2 and Mail 8.2

I'm not sure but I see the mail is sorting now, i guess maybe its just that i have to many emails
