I've question - following is what I've currently

2012 Mac-mini + EVGA SC17 Laptop Windows 10 (fully loaded).

I've migrated out from 2014 iMac, my 2014 iMac was primary editing machine for all my Lightroom + Photoshop Work.
I've 6 external HDD ( somewhere around 40TB of data among this 6 external HDD)

Currently here is what I've as Setup
2012 Mac-mini (i7 + 1.5TB SSD + 16GB RAM) - connected to external USB Hub - that has all my 6 External HDD connected.

Windows 10 EVGA SC17 Laptop (32GB RAM + 1070GTX + 2TB SSD) works as primary editing machine for Photoshop + LR related work.

Both Windows and Macmini are connected to same wireless network in home.

I'd like to do following -

Be able to access External HDD that are connected to mac-mini from Windows 10 laptop.

How is this possible ? I tried connected from Mac OSX to Windows laptop using

"smb:\\ip address of windows laptop" - but that is not working. Also in Network neighborhood of Windows 10 machine, it is not showing me my Mac-mini.

Is there any way to do this - which is reliable and fast ?

On the mac make sure file sharing is enabled (System Preferences / Sharing). On the left side check 'file sharing'. Add your shared folder and user permissions. Also go into 'options' make sure 'share files and folders using smb' is checked. So may also have to check the user account in the box below that.

You should now see the mac listed in your Windows network view and choosing it will show available shares.

From the command line you can do -> net use T: \\mac_ip\share_name /user:user_name password
