Hi! What do you need to buy to use a desktop mack internal drive into an external? I have an 10 year old desktop running 10.5. I need to check out a few of these drives:
You basically just shove a drive into the slot and it mounts. Then when you're done with it you unmount it from the OS and just pull it straight out. Easy peasy.

Never fear, it should fit. The little cutout in the picture is sized for 2.5" "laptop size" drives, and the entire rectangular outline accommodates 3.5" drives (like the one in your photo). As long as your drives have the SATA connector you showed in your second photo then they will fit.
The slot cover is hinged and spring loaded, it will fit any 2.5" and 3.5" hard drive .
As said above, all that matters is that it's a SATA hard drive .
