Rented 'Up in the Air' using AppleTV tonight. Instead of usual playback after 1% of the movie download I've got a message that I can watch the movie in two hours... Right now it is 30% downloaded but I still have to wait an hour before I can start to watch the movie. Doesnt help because it is too late now and I have to go to bed...

But the actual question is around Apple support around movie rentals. What do I do if there is something wrong with a rental? I wasn't able to find any phone number to call, callback functions asks for serial number of my appletv and date of purchase and fails to proceed (why?), technical support for Canada responds with a message that it is open from 9 till 5 and goes nothere...
What is it, Apple? Is it just me unable to find information on apple.ca or weird reality of apple store services that have no support?

I had same problem last evening

I rented the movie 2012 last night in HD. Normally it only takes a minute or two before I can view the movie. However, last night it stated ready to view in 5 HOURS. I checked internet to ensure my speeds were good, and connection to the internet was good. Everything was good, could view UTUBE videos quick, could view trailers of movies really quick. I went back to check the status of my rental and it states ready to view in 1 hour. A few minutes later I am alerted that the movie is ready to view. I watch the movie, and I am about 30 minutes from the end, and the movie freezes. I check the status of the download only 72 percent completed. I wait for a while, and resume watching the movie for about 10 minutes and it freezes again.

I have never had an issue like this before. I rechecked all my internet connections, checked the speed, checked downloads from Youtube and movie trailers, again very fast no issues.

What is up with Apple Movie Rentals ? They seem to be having issues and frankly the messed up the movie for me !!

Support is handled through iTunes. I had a rental fail to play about 6 months ago. They credited my account and put the movie back in to my que. The email response took about a day.
