I got my sister an Apple TV for Christmas, but she's having problems setting it up. Unknown to me, it turns out she has an old iBook running OSX 10.4. Because of this, it doesn't appear as though she can upgrade to Itunes 10.5 or later as required for ATV.

Trying to find a workaround for her to be able to use the ATV. My second thought was to give her my old iPad to stream content from there, but I don't believe she'd be able to sync the iPad to her computer either.

Any suggestions?
Thanks!

So she doesn't have a TV? Apple TV is really meant to stream content to TVs. People also connect them to their iMacs but I really don't think you can work it with an old iBook although I am not 100% positive. Why not get a decent 26'' LED LCD for $300 and use the Apple TV2 the way it is meant to be used.

I think the OP want to share the media on the old Mac to the Apple TV that is in fact connected to a TV (at least that is how I see it)

One word (well actually it's more like two):

Jailbreak

if you jailbreak it you won't need to stream your content from iTunes, you'd be able to stream it from any drive in your network.
