I just want to know what temp should i try to keep my mbp at when playing wow, because i usually play up to 4 hours at a time and don't want to overtax the cpu's or the fans.

so what are reasonable fan speeds for prolonged periods and cpu temp. and will lowering my max fps keep temp down noticably.

As you said, lowering max FPS will help. i set it up at 40 and game play is perfect and temp are lower that way.

When you play for extended period of time, set yourself up on table with good air circulation, i raise my mbp by a cm with a long and thin piece of wood to have some airflow below the laptop.

The MBP was built for professional that can do a lot of video editing during extended period, i would not worry too much about temp.

Play in a cool room, like a basement, if you can. Upstairs in a D.C. summer once red-circled my 360. :-(

thanks for responding guys, yeah most of the time i will be playing on a table and not on my lap, actually the bar in my media room is granite so that will be a cool area for it to lay, and do some serious raiding, and handbraking.
