Hi,

I have an original iphone and a new iphon. I use my new one for everything, calls etc. Love it.

The old one has been ticking along nicely as an ipod for nearly a year now. However, I just bought a new imac (love it too) and I thought I'd get rid of my old pc which I've used up to now for all ipods and iphones (shuffel, 5g ipod etc).

I plugged the OLD iphone into the NEW imac and it said I needed to upgrade the software. I did this but now it says SIM not found, connect to itunes to activate. I can't get it to show up in itunes because it says sort out the sim. I have not had a chance to take the purchases off the iphone first and my old pc is going down very fast (very old bugs etc).

What can I do here?

I want:

all my purchases off original iphone onto new imac
a working iphone (now ipod)....!

please help!!!!

the app purchases are related to your itunes account, so you can just go re-download them again. Or try the Check For Purchases button. Or copy the itunes folder off your old computer into the itunes folder on your new computer.

as for the old iphone, you're going to have to put a sim card in it to activate it. just take the sim out of your 3g and then take it out when its done.

This is all you have to do, just did this for my husband, went from PC to Mac brought a passport hard drive and copied itunes folder over everything was there when we synced his iphone.

ok hang on.... what about my music purchases?

will these transfer if i just transfer my itunes folder? even the ones i purchased on the iphone itself? cause i've forgotten which are which.....

thank you!!1

just copy all of your itunes and put it on your new machine. authorize your new machine with your itunes account and everything will transfer, no problems.
