Nevermind...

I have uninstalled the old driver and installed the newest non-beta driver from nvidia.

-----------------
Old post.

Attempt to try to install OmegaDrivers on
MacBook Pro Santa Rosa (mid 2007)

I have
- Uninstalled nvidia driver, reboot
- Installed OmegaDrivers, reboot
- Graphic is slow

From the OmegaDrivers site
"After installing the new drivers and rebooting, if your desktop is SLOW and/or games won't run, is because AGP acceleration has been disabled by Windows, in order to fix this you MUST re-install the latest AGP chipset drivers for your Mother Board (this also includes laptops)."

Is the lack of AGP chipset drivers the problem?

Can someone prove me the info on where to get the AGP chipset driver for the MBP? Thanks

Would this Apple driver be more stable?

Yes the Apple drivers would be more stable, but they are also older. The Omega drivers are old as well. Have you tried Nvidia's drivers from their webpage?

To check what the DX Acceleration level is set at. Start-> Run-> Type dxdiag-> click enter->click ok (or yes) to the popup->click the tab that says display.

From there in the middle of the box should be a section that talks about DirectX features. All three should be enabled. If any aren't then click enable button. If that doesn't work then you may need to reinstall DirectX.

I've tried the forceware driver WinXP32(167.44).exe listed on apple. After install and reboot, windows xp Corp. gave Blue screen of death within 30 minutes without anything running.

Nividia has no driver listed under the GeForce 8600M GT, but they do have a newer version of the forceware drivers (for 8600 gt, not mobile?), maybe someone want to try that out
