Help With Photos Geo Tags New Pro Max

Hey Guys, I'm hoping someone over here can help me.. Purchased a 11 Pro Max yesterday, I did a restore from icloud backup from my 7+ all seemed to go well. Then I noticed that the photos from the restore from icloud have no GEO TAGS showing on the top of the photo. If I text one to my wife she sees the location on her new Iphone 11 and all her photos from the cloud restore show fine! Been on the phone most of the day with 3 senior tech reps and they couldn't help! Went to my local apple store tonight and they said its a hidden setting.. Or the hardware! Thanks in advance!
 
Seems like they have no clue... By the sounds of it, the geo data is There, but Photos isn't showing it. It may index the data if you just leave it for a while, or show when iOS 13.1 comes out, but you might want to try another restore.

Thanks for your reply... Geo Tag is there and now I ticked on keep orig on iphone not in cloud, any new photos taken shows the geo tag but NONE of them from the Icloud restore show it..
 
So, I went to my local apple store and they were stumped too! Not a setting., The only thing we can come to is that it will take days for all 13,000 photos to come down to the phone and tag themselves! no one knows! Ugh
 
I got mine to show up... Some how... What I did was sent a photo to my wife via airdrop, when she received it to her iphone there was in fact a geo tag! Showed up on her phone but not mine! I deleted the photo and she sent it back to me via airdrop and it was in fact geo tagged! Since then all the photos geo tagged! Not sure if this is a fix or just worked for me.. The tags are there but they didnt show up until I tried the air drop back and fourth! Let me know if this works for you !
 
First I have to find a wife LOL! I’m kidding. I’ll try it later with moms phone. Thank you and I’ll let you know :)
 
Glad I’m not the only one with this issue. Did you guys also happen to have issues with the iCloud thumbnails not restoring or taking really long to restore? Maybe photos just needs to spend Time for restoring before the tags are searchable?
 
When you look at the places folder in the photos app all the pictures are placed perfectly by exact location. This must just be another bug we have to deal with. I feel like Apple should stop calling us customers and start calling us BETA TESTERS 4 LIFE.
 
For sure. I know all of the data is still there. I can see it on a map.... it's just not searchable by location. It's obviously a stupid bug... just a matter of Apple acknowledging it and fixing it... which is tough.
 
I dunno. I got a new phone yesterday afternoon and sometime today all the geotags came back. I did put a case in though.
 
Mine finally came back. That being said, photos taken since Saturday still don't have geo-tags. Odd that it isn't just a restore issue.
