I'm new here, so bare with me !

I have a 2010 iMac desktop which I have never had an issue with until now.

All of a sudden the screen is full of B&W pixels, you can still see the existing screen through it and move the mouse cursor, but everything else freezes.

I have read it could be a graphics card issue?

Today it just crashed and the screen just went off!?

If anyone can help, i'd be so grateful

Andrew.

If you are confident with opening the iMac to check and replace the GPU in it, you can order a compatible MXM card to try.
If not, just bring it to a repair shop.

How to isolate the issue (bad GPU or bad LCD)
If you have another monitor with a display port, you can try hook it up. If the second monitor works well, then the problem may reside in your LCD panel or the logic board which control it.

Most likely a dead graphics card. Take a look at this thread an learn how to replace it :)
