Help with Printer

Hi, Mac newbie here, still transiting from PC/XP. Got my iMac (Intel) 20" 2 weeks ago. Just got around to connecting my Epson 1290 photo printer a few days ago and struggling to get good photo printouts. A lot of options I had on PC not available on Mac like type of paper, controlling printout resolution and quality. Photos are so bad compared to when printing from my PC. Could not find any driver that allows the printer to reach its full quality potential.

2 questions please:
1. Anyone know of a driver for my printer?
2. I'm prepared to get a new printer so what recommendation of a good photo printer (A4 size good enough but equivalent print quality to the Epson 1290) that works well with iMac with up to date drivers for Intel Mac?

In the print dialog box, have you tried clicking the "Copies & Pages" drop down. You will find all sorts of settings to play with in there. When I was switching it took me a while to find how to change the settings. If this doesn't help, then HP printers are usually well supported with Mac drivers.

You should be able to print fine. Download the driver from Epson. I had no problems with my old 1270.
