I downloaded a few movies off of DC++. They are avi files and when I try to open them up quicktime informs me I need to download the right plugins. The movies I downloaded arae Lord of the Rings and Star Wars. Any idea how I can get the correct plugging and get the movie playing? Thanks

Ken

Whenver I got to open the file it plays fine but it mutes my system =/

divx doctor-3ivx mov-avi converter.
free at- http://www.3ivx.com/divxdoctor/

works on about 90% of avi's
some avi's were just never meant to play in quicktime.

vlc player is great and will play just about anything but it wont allow you to do any converting, clipping, saving etc. that you can do in quicktime. it just plays and it does it well.
