i deleted itunes out of the applications folder trying to uninstall the app.

i downloaded itunes4.2.dmg and trying to re-install and when it goes through the installer process it shows itunes and ipod driver but both just say disabled and will not let me re-install the program.

any idea how i re-install itunes? I realize now probably should not have delted the app icon out of the app folder but I did and its gone ... not sure how to get itunes back now.

have you tried looking at software update to see if it wants to install it, if not just grab it off your restores discs.

software update does not want to install it ... i have the 3 panther discs i just used to upgrade, how do I get it off those?

I don't have those :(

there has to be way to get itunes back on

there is a program that lets you extract dmg's from the panther discs, i jsut cant remember the name. the way i always do it is i install tinkertool and tell it to show invisible folders then i search for itunes on the panther disc. but i have a feeling if it wont install from the downloaded version from apple's site this wont work either. bring up the search field and type in itunes and delete every little pref or anything that has itunes in it, then try reinstalling it from the copy your downloaded.

You might want to try searching "iTunes" and then delete anything iTunes relted (i.e. iTunes prefences), then re-install it.

THANKS!

This worked great... iTunes is working once again!
