I set up Remote Management on my home iMac. But I am not having success accessing it from school. The IP address provided is my network IP address with is 192.168.1.x. I have Dyndns set up but when I use that from my Macbook at school it doesn't work. I am missing a step. Any help?

I use TeamViewer, which is free for personal use and works with Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, Ubuntu, iPhone, iPad, etc. It's very secure and quite simple to set up and use (no messing around with ports), which comes in handy if providing remote support to those who aren't very computer literate. You can talk them through the setup on their end and be connected to them in less than a minute. I prefer it over LogMeIn because it includes free file transfers between computers, a feature I use frequently.
Yea I use LogMeIn now and don't really like it anymore. I will try TeamView but do I need to forward ports to get Remote Management working?
Do you mean for use with TeamViewer? No. You don't need to do anything with your firewall for TV to work.
192.168.x.x is a local network address and can not be used via the internet. You need to create a special tunnel (ssh, vpn) to your home which makes it look as if you are plugging the machine into the network at home.
If you want to connect to your home machine without a tunnel you need your own external ip-address that you get from your isp. This address is used on the internet. You can use that address to connect to via vnc from school. You do need to open up port 5900 tcp/udp as this is what vnc uses. But that is not all. Apple uses a vnc version that is a little bit different. The built-in "connect to server"/"screensharing" app in OS X uses this version so shouldn't have a problem. There are very few 3rd party vnc viewers that also support the way Apple does vnc (I believe it is just TightVNC that is able to do so).
