OK, I’m driving myself crazy trying to get this to work… after installing the app and running it, it doesn’t show up in the “devices” column of itunes. I have all of the appropriate boxes checked in itunes. I have added itunes.exe to the “exceptions” list in windows firewall (windows xp sp2) and NOD32 antivirus (amon and dmon). I have even tried turning both of them off with no luck.

Can anyone help me out? I have a feeling it must be something to do with my router setup, but I don’t know what to change. I actually have a setup where I go from the cable modem into a Linksys (non wireless router), then I go out from that router out to the PC and to a netgear wireless router. The ipod touch (2g, 32gb) can access the internet just fine.

Any ideas?

thanks.

Just to confirm is your PC connected to the wireless router or not?

"then I go out from that router out to the PC and to a netgear wireless router"

Based off your setup I'm not sure if your are accessing your computer from a wired router and then also have a wire going from that wired router to a wireless router which the ipod is connected to.

If so then your computer wouldn't be using the same network which is cause for your problem.

Based off apple site "Remote needs to be connected via Wi-Fi to the same local network that iTunes or Apple TV is connected to in order to pair and control those libraries."

No, the wired router has 2 lines that go out... one to my pc, and one to the wireless router. Is this where my problem is coming in? The ipod touch can access the internet just fine...

The reason for that setup is that the wireless router is old and freezes up when using utorrent through it (which i do with my desktop pc).
