Help with replacing sms sounds

I have done everything to replace my sms sound... but it still doesn't work. i replaced the file with one i made and it just plays nothing instead.. any suggestions?

I had the same problem but got it to work after I re-booted the phone. You're using a .caf file correct? And you're replacing the correct file via SSH?

I'm trying to reboot now but yes i did use ssh and caf file

so i tried rebooting and even re did the whole process. still no luck.
