I know very little about this stuff...

I am using a Netgear Nighthawk R7000 router. For WiFi settings I have “Smart Connect” turned on. As far as I can tell this sort of combines the 2.5 and 5 networks for ease. But iOS 14 is telling me my WiFi is not as secure as it could be. Should I be doing something differently? I have some devices that only work on 2.4 so I definitely need that.

well what is it specifically iOS complains about? Combined 2.4GHz and 5GHz is unlikely to be it. My Apple Time Capsule has the same functionality, and though I've explicitly split up the two antenna bands, it doesn't complain when it's enabled. - But I mean if that is it, you can just disable it and pick between 2.4GHz and 5GHz per device and placement. (2.4 has longer range and penetrate walls more easily, but 5GHz is faster when it's got proper connection)

It says my security settings are weak. But I can’t change them with Smart Connect on as far as I can tell.

Okay so, do you have a Mac? If you alt-click the w—fi menu could you screenshot the information there? - It’s not much to go on, not knowing what security it’s complaining about. I guess maybe you could try and change the password if it’s running a default ISP password

This is what it shows on my iPhone.
