Resolved Help with screen is pitch black

Hello everyone!

My name is Nestor!

Please help!
I am in trouble with my MacBook Pro
When i turn it on it just stays black and there is no backlight on the screen. Like if the screen components got disconnected.

When i turn on the macbook pro it turns on and i can hear the sound and everything but the backlight never turns on (screen).

I connected an HDMI and it works and when i go to GENERAL > DISPLAY> only the television appears as a screen

Please help me...
i do not know if its a ribbon or something got burned but for sure the KEYBOARD LIGHTS UP AND THE SOUND IS THERE I CAN HEAR THE CHIME. Plus it shows as an external screen (hdmi) but not as a mirror...

Is my led back panel burned? Or just ribbons got disconnected?

I’m afraid there’s nothing we can do. It’s probably the screen. You will have to take it to an Apple Store for repair.

Was it ever dropped or exposed to liquid?

Have you checked for loose connections?

I haven’t moved anything i taken care of it so much idk if the backlight panel led burned but it works fine when i plug the hdmi

I have not checked or opened the device.
I was thinking maybe it was a loose ribbon or cable but i will open it now that you say that, because i always took care of it and mainly i ask this due to the issue that i have everything in my hdd (hard drive disk) and i got lots of finals to return by monday and everything is in my hdd and i dont wanna use an external monitor due to show my presentations.
Yet thank you and i will reply you about it when i open the machine

Okay so i tried everything but it seems that the main screen is not showing up on the computer i am confused why... but is it because maybe a cable got loose?

Have you tried reseating the cable? If yes, the problem could be on the logic board or something inside the display housing.

To determine the exact problem and solution, it would be best to take it to a repair shop that performs board-level diagnostics and repair. You could take it to the Apple store for a free diagnosis but they will only replace parts at great expense.

Well i haven’t opened the system at all.
I never opened and saw the cables. Well is there something else i can do? It seems its not detecting the displays. Its neither a mal configuration... so you think i have to open the computer completely?
How can it look if its damaged inside? Like burned or something...?

I thought it was a bug or something but not even a bug... (that is the reason why i updated the computer)

So what do you think it is? Do you think is a virtual problem or do you think it’s a hardware problem I already checked with the nvram And other troubleshooting problems or ways of fixing it but nothing seems to work everything works completely fine I only attach the HDMI and it transfers the image to the monitor

Seriously mate. If you've never taken you laptop apart before don't do it now. Take it to the bloody Apple Store. My brother tried replacing a HDD in his old laptop never having taken anything apart before and ruined the machine beyond repair.

Yes that is what i am thinking as well because i tried everything in forums even troubleshoot guides pdfs etc smc fans, nvram. But nothing i feel strongly it’s hardware because if it was buggy or something the nvram would of taken care of it or the smc for sure! Thank you so much for your help!

Wow! I’m sorry to hear that but i will do so! I believe it is an internal problem (hardware) physical problems but for sure will take it to a place to fix it!

Thank you everyone for your help. I did my research i did volunteer in apple stores but that was 3 years ago. So i dont know if things changed on their shortcuts or function which i have a feeling it does change every year.

Anyways thank you everyone for your time and help!

If computer is up and running, shine a flashlight on the back of the display assembly through the Apple logo. Do you see a faint image on screen where flashlight illuminated? If so, then it is likely that the backlight circuit died. This can be caused by something as simple as a fuse (unfortunately macbook fuses never seem to die) that feeds the backlight circuit, some other component in the backlight boost circuit, or a bad display cable. None of which is impossible to repair but beyond the skill of most consumers. If there is no image, then could be something wrong with connector or some of the sense resistors near connector.
