You are aware that the game is NOT available for the Mac ?

The only way that you can play it by using a Wine or Cider wrapper which allows the game to run on a Mac as an unofficial port. It runs under Bootcamp also.

Looking at your spec I do not not think you could do either though.

yeahhh thats what i thought.:( oh well though. my parents are going to get me a laptop for college though so what kind would you recommend? im not a huge gamer by any means but do enjoy them every now and then. i play wow and want to play skyrim on it so what would be a good laptop money wise?

For playing this game bwo Bootcamp, you might be short on VRAM.

See the MacRumors Skyrim Guide

Minimum Requirements: Windows 7/Vista/XP PC (32 or 64 bit)
*Processor: Dual Core 2.0GHz or equivalent processor
*2GB System RAM
*6GB free HDD Space
*Direct X 9.0c compliant video card with 512 MB of RAM
*DirectX compatible sound card
*Internet access for Steam activation.

Keep whatever laptop you have, and get a desktop to supplement it. Make the desktop your power-machine, the computer that does gaming and processing really good, and your laptop as your go-places computer. The combination works great for me! :D

Like others have mentioned, Skyrim will not run on your machine. But you could play its predecessor, Oblivion, using a copy of windows and bootcamp. If you are into open world rpgs, Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas from the same developer are pretty good too, and these should run on lower settings on your machine too. These three should provide you with hundreds of hours of gaming without the need to spend much.
