i have managed to backup all my photos via google photos but there are no albums like there is on my iPad. I thought once all my photos were synced my albums would sync as well? or is that not correct?

as if i plan to get the S8 i wanted all my photo albums to sync to my new device from my iPhone 7 plus.

Create folder select pics then it gives option to put them in folder. But no you can't sync pre existing folders

Samsung phones are quite smart in terms of folder creation. A lot of things just went into the folders I would have created. I liked the fact that google was always backing things up in the background without any input from me. In fact google backs up everything. At the time I found this annoying as I mean literally everything. However I bought a concert series of videos from iTunes and despite having these videos downloaded to my iPhone Apple have botched it up in the cloud by assigning the wrong video to the said song title, this has now messed up my own collection. However I had put these videos on android phones and google backed them up. So my collection was preserved.
