help with Time Machine

I am a recent (two weeks) convert from Windows and I'm having issues with When I select "Enter Time Machine" nothing happens. It's worked in the recent past; last week to be exact. Something's changed since then, but I've done so many things trying to get this Mac Air set up that it's impossible for me to know what caused this issue.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Are you using a directly-attached USB drive, or are you using a wireless Time Capsule (or a USB drive attached to an Airport Extreme)?

I use a Time Capsule. When I click "Enter Time Machine", it sometimes takes up to 30 seconds for it to connect wirelessly and pull it up.

Does it give you any error message, or just never take you into that "outer space" screen?
