I am new to unlocking iPhones but I know mostly everything there is to jailbreaking and I just have one question.

Does unlocking the phone allow any carrier to work I.E. T-Mobile, Verizon, Metro PCS, anything besides AT&T?

And just a reminder I plan to unlock a first gen iPhone not the 3g

No. It only works with GSM providers.

AT&T, T-Mobile, Centennial Wireless.

NOTHING else.

Makes sense since the first gen doesnt have 3g. Should have thought of that Thanks :)

Oh on a quick note same question but with the iPhone 3g

No, because having 3G has nothing to do with it, still...

Google CDMA and then Google GSM.

They're not interchangeable, no matter how much new GSM-only hardware is added.

Ahhh okay gotcha. Thanks a lot and for being quick on the replies.
