Uno is like a godsend to me, I HATE brushed metal. But, there is one small problem: the Apple and Spotlight menu items have become tiny. Is there some way to prevent this from happening? I hate the brushed metal, but I'm not willing to sacrifice the size of menu items. Thanks.

Whao, I just realised that. *Wants solution*

UNO is great. I cant use my mac without it anymore. I just start grinding my teeth...

but I've never heard of that problem with UNO. What version are you running, what os and which mac? Have you used the latest update from here? Take a screen grab too, I can't really visuallise what your talking about.

It was one of the latest updates that created this "problem." Your best option would be to see if one of the older versions is stable enough and compatible with the latest version of Tiger. I *believe* one of the members on here has the older version...but I'm not sure who it was.

EDIT: According to this thread, mad jew might still have the older version. Where's the 'jew when you need him?

Hey, I found a way to hack Uno so it doesn't change the Spotlight icon. If you go into the Uno package (Right Click --> "Show Packaged Contents") Go to a folder named MD, and delete the 2 files that have the mini-Spotlight icon. It works great. Now I need to figure out how to fix the Apple menu.

The next update is supposed to make the icons larger, apparently it's in beta (closed) now. No hack for the apple but the spotlight icon can be corrected as mentioned earlier.

Do you mean, that it will make the icons larger, or will they remain the same size as the standard Mac OS?

odd. I wonder why its being let out into the wild. I just checked and I'm running 1.2... but I have 1.3 sitting on my harddrive waiting for a time to install.

Guess I wont. Heck, can't argue with free. Its still the best program around to fix os x and its love affair with brushed metal look. Uuugh.

I also still have 1.2 and can email it to whoever wants it (roughly 6MB), just PM me with your address. Oh, remember that 1.2 will only work on PPC machines though. :)

I'm working on modifying Uno so that it won't change the menu icons. If I am sucessful, I will let everyone know.

I don't understand Uno. I barely noticed the difference between brushed metal and iTunes before i heard of this application.

Of course not, you are a newbie! Give it some time. Soon you will realize that 'plastic' is superior to 'brushed metal."

Okay sorry. I was a creeper too, before I decided to become a member. I suspect there are a lot of creepers around here.

What do you think looks better:the plastic look of iTunes or the Brushed metal throughout the OS interface? I used to like Brushed metal a lot, but I guess I became sick of it. When iTunes went plastic it took me a few days to become accustomed to it, but now I really like it and look forward to it being 'throughout' in Leopard.

But why make it smaller at all? Is it a bug in the program?

Because he can? So he did. He liked it that way I suppose, but a choice would have been nice?

Edit: He was making them the same size as the other stuff on the menubar (text). Why?
