I've recently moved into an apartment building where they give you wifi boxes, and we got a Linksys one. The connection mostly works, but we sometimes get kicked off, so we are pretty sure that other people are getting onto the network. The building doesn't give us (and doesn't seem to know) the name of the network or the password or anything for the wifi. I was wondering if there's any way to figure out the network name or password for this so that we can make it secure for only our computers. Any help would be appreciated!

Try this. Turn off the AirPort on your computer, connect an Ethernet wire to the Linksys and your Mac, fire up a browser and go to 192.168.1.1 and you should be looking at the configuration of the router. It might ask you for the password. Try it with a user name of "admin" and no password or try a user/pass of admin/admin. Those are usually the factor default settings.
If those don't work there is a way to do a hard reset of the box to factory settings, but it escapes me at the moment.

Hmmm...ok well I tried that but it won't open the page. I removed my firewall and tried again, but it still won't work.

There might be a chance that the password has not been changed but I doubt it.
I suspect channel interference and/or non up to date firmware.
