Help With Windows XP Home Edition!

Hey, I'm trying to get Windows XP Home (on my MacBook Pro) to work on my school's ethernet network. The connection manager thing insists that it's connected (which it is), but Internet Explorer insists that it's not connected. Is this some bull crap limitation of XP home, or is this something that I can fix?

2. cmd
3. ipconfig /all

Do you see a valid ip address?

Dunno, not at school right now, I was just trying to get some instructions on how to fis the problem before I go back.
