HELP!!!! with wireless mouse

ive been using a genuine apple bluetooth mouse for about 8 months with little or no problems, tonight however i seem to be having major problems.

the LED (underneath) flashes twice every few seconds and the cursor will not move BUT i am able to click. i have swapped batteries out, and infact tested them too and they are all currently on about half power

has anyone ever had anything like this?...at the moment im having to use the keypad to move the cursor about


please please please help me

The mouse does this when it's not getting enough power. Cheaper batteries often give out less power than more expensive batteries so either buy some slightly more expensive batteries or charge these ones back up (if they're rechargeable).

Wouldn't the os show a low battery icon then?

It's not a lack of charge issue, it's a power issue. Ideally, a battery will continue to put out the same wattage throughout its life span however this isn't always the case. As such, the OS might rightfully think that the battery has enough charge and not realise it's not putting out enough power.

I've just had this exact problem and hence me here looking for answers. I must admit this morning I had the flashing battery warning. But only briefly and now that I'm back the mouse only clicks and doesn't move.

I'm going to go with mad jew and confirm that I have relatively cheap batteries in and they last around 2 weeks most. So I'm hoping it's that too.

With regards to the battery levels the OS reports 2/5 bars. But did flash this morning before I went to uni. So yeah maybe not a high enough mAh rating on the battery.

I bought some good quality rechargeable batteries (all the same brand) and a charger (also the same brand). I reckon they're a pretty good investment and are cheaper in the long run. I only used one brand to ensure complete compatibility although that's probably not necessary.

i think your absolutely right, i do think its the batteries, now on a seperate note a few days ago i dropped a cup of tea onto my BT keyboard, within seconds of the happening i already had the batteries out.

my only course was to run it under a tap to rid the tea, now a few days on with a completely dried out keyboard, i have tried and tried to get it working again to no avail, i go through the set up even to the point of typing in the number and pressing enter...the machine then reports a failure to connect to the keyboard.

i have not yet tried different batteries (using another set of rechargables) anyone got any idea's

MJ always with the great advice (On a different note) the mac wireless mouse is nice but they make some nice scroll wheel 2 button mice also which personally I like better and use rather then the Mac one, however, once a BT mighty mouse comes out ill be all over that.
