Im trying to write in spanish, but I dont know how to type the words, because of the different characters that are used in spanish......any help guys please...I need you..
- Using the "option" key allows you to type accent marks and works well for French and Spanish as well as some other languages. Just hold down the "option" key while pressing the "E" key (without holding the Shift key down) for example. You'll end up with this "´" with yellow surrounding it. Then press "E" again and you'll end up with this "é" pressing option+E and then typing "A" gives you this "á" as the result.
- There is also a System Preference area called "International" that can provide additional options for working in different languages. To see a whole list of accent marks and additional characters that can be typed using the "option" key click on "Input Menu" tab area of the "International" area of the "System Preferences" Application (which is by standard in the "Applications" folder of a Mac's hard drive--at least if it is running Mac OS X 10.2-10.4.9). Next check the box at the top of the scrolling area titled "Keyboard Viewer" and also check the box at the bottom of the window titled "Show input menu in menu bar". Now go to the top left corner of the computer screen and click on the flag that is up there (I am assuming that it will probably be an American flag, a European flag or an Australian flag in your case since your post was in English). In the menu click on "Show Keyboard Viewer" and now hold and release your shift key several times while looking at the "Keyboard Viewer". Do the same with the "option" key I hope this helps.
Note: Try not to press the "Shift" or the "option" key 5 times in a row because you can change computer options by doing so.
