Hey,

I have a problem I hope someone here can help me with. I'm am no stranger to computer hard/software (I've worked in a hardware store for many years), and I've owned to macs.

Got my new MBP a few weeks ago, and I installed Windows XP on it to run Warhammer Online. Everything went great, and I was truly amazed at how this computer performs.

Anyway, the other night I turned on the MBP to do some homework, and I noticed that the graphicsdriver was really slow. (you know that thing where the page kinda moves in blocks when you scroll ect. ... really annoying)

So I did my homework and went to bed hoping it would be back to normal this morning. As you might have guessed I wasn't that lucky.

So today I started to investigate, and I found out that the intire NVIDIA menu is gone, and when I try to open Warhammer it says that my graphicscard is way below the minimumreq.

I have tried reparing the Bootcamp drivers, I have tried to remove them and reinstall them, wich reports no problems, but doesn't solve the problem. I have also tried to find the driver directly on the OSX install disc, and when I run it, it says that there is no NVIDA graphics card in my computer.

Anyone know what could be the problem? I know the advice of many will be "format c" and reinstall the intire thing, but since it will take foreever (it takes easily 1,5 hours just to install Warhammer), and it doesn't garantee that it works, I'd like to know if there is anything I should try first.

You can just force Nvidia's reference drivers to install real easily. Worked fine as near as I could tell on a last gen Macbook Pro (not sure if also having an Nvidia chipset would confuse it or not).

Sounds like the video driver just got corrupt somehow...though that's really weird. Could be a hardware issue, if you can't get it working after reinstalling the chipset and video drivers.

Thanks for the advice Wolfpup. Couldn't get the driver to work, and I decided to reinstall Windows on it.
Alltohugh it has taken me 3+ hours to get everything working, things seem to be fine now. Must have been some corruption in the Windows-installation that caused the Nvidia driver to corrupt and the graphics card unrecognizable.

Anyway... it works now. Hope no one else runs into this, as reinstallation of all software can be a pain.
